"Goodreads: Who is the real Margo?
Quentin Jacobsen has spent a lifetime loving the magnificently adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman from afar. So when she cracks open a window and climbs into his life—dressed like a ninja and summoning him for an ingenious campaign of revenge—he follows. After their all-nighter ends, and a new day breaks, Q arrives at school to discover that Margo, always an enigma, has now become a mystery. But Q soon learns that there are clues—and they're for him. Urged down a disconnected path, the closer he gets, the less Q sees the girl he thought he knew..."
In the beginning of the book, Quenton (or Q) is admiring a girl whom he's known his whole life from a distance. He's wishing he could be near her and know what she's laughing at, but he's the kid that hangs out with band kids when he's not even a band kid. Later that night, however, Q gets a knock on his window, and of course it's the girl. The girl who is Margo Roth Spiegelman (they always refer to her by her full name throughout the entire book) wants Q to go on an adventure with him where they roam Orlando, FL where they live to get revenge on Margo's friends and have a bit of fun while doing it.
I think this event made Q fall even more in love with Margo for he was the last person to see her before she ran away. Apparently, Margo is known for running away and going on these big adventures. She's also known for leaving clues as to where she went. Q made it his journey to find her and to look for every clue. HOWEVER, that's where I stop because I do not want to give anymore spoilers. If you want spoilers, please let me know!
I absolutely loved this book. It was fun, intriguing, and very entertaining. I liked Margo Roth Spiegelman at first, but disliked her a lot towards the end. I found her very selfish. Although, I do understand why she needed to leave but the way she was doing things was incredibly selfish.
Q's friends were incredibly funny and entertaining. My favorite part of the book is the road trip with all four people. However, I did not like how Ben kept saying stuff like "honeybunnies."
The biggest problem I have with most of John Greens book are that they are very similar to one another. Other than The Fault in Our Stars, they all have male leads who are nerdy and these male leads are all longing for some girl. If I had to put John Green books in order of favorite to hate, it would be this: The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns, Looking for Alaska, and An Abundance of Katherines. The last one was my least favorite. I don't regret buying it or reading it, but I most likely will not read it again.
